Ceraplex is a formula that is advertised as being a detox and fortifying formula that may help users reduce inflammation, fight off free radials and improve cognitive function. Ceraplex contains six extracts, including R Alpha Lipoic Acid, Resveratrol, Curcumin, Quercetin, Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12) and a derivative of Ginkgo Biloba.

R Alpha Lipoic Acid is one of six ingredients in this formula, and it is used to help fortify the mitochondria, increase energy levels and augment glutathione, so that it adds antioxidant support into this formula. While these are all great attributes, we would have liked to see them also include an extract, like Alpha GPC, which may help the body access more Choline, which has a direct affect on increasing short and long term memory. None of the extracts used in this formula have an ability to increase Choline, which is a pretty big oversight in our opinion.
On the other hand, Ceraplex does contain phytochemicals, like Resveratrol, Curcumin and Quercetin, all of which are derived from health sources, like grapes, apples, onions and herbs. However, while they may increase immune function and address certain areas of aging, they are not proven or potent cognitive enhancers.

We were glad to see that the Ceraplex website does a good job of explaining how this product works and what extracts are used in it. However, they failed to provide certain key bits of information that we usually suggest looking for, like testimonials and research. The retail sites that carry this formula, for the most part, don’t post testimonials, which is troubling because the more results driven formulas usually post their customer success stories. Also, we like to see research posted, linked or referred to, in order to verify the effectiveness of the extracts and elements included in these formulas. Unfortunately, at this time Ceraplex does not post that information either.

In many ways Ceraplex is a multivitamin for your brain, and as is the case with most vitamins, they may help increase immune function, fight free radicals and help keep inflammation down. However, this formula does lack certain key elements that would have made it a truly effective cognitive enhancer. For instance, Alpha GPC is often used to help augment short and long term memory, and B Vitamins are used to help balance homocysteine levels, which may help keep dementia related issues at bay. When it comes to getting all the areas of cognitive health back on track and keeping it there, people often need a really focused formula that hits each and every key area. However, this formula lacks the capability to do so. Fortunately, there are formulas on the market that do. With a little time and research one should have no trouble locating a great formula that works to increase brain health and cognitive function.
